WHAT IS FLEX PCB ASSEMBLY ?

Flex PCB assembly, we also call flexible PCB assembly which is a technology that deals with the construction of electronic circuits. Electronic components are typically mounted on flexible plastic substrates such as PEEK, polyimide or transparent conductive Mylar. It is totally different of rigid PCB assembly. Both flex PCB assembly and rigid PCB assembly are workable, it depends on the specific needs of your project.

FLEX PCB ASSEMBLY STEPS

A) Something we need to do before assembly

     1) Ready for FPC Assembly Carrier Fixture

Different from rigid PCB, flex PCB very soft. If without carrier fixture, then the flex PCB cannot be fixed and transmission cannot be completed also including paste printing, SMT assembly and reflow soldering, etc.

    2) Flexible printed circuit preprocess

Since flexible printed circuit is very soft, so normally it cannot be packed with vacuum packaging. The FPC is easy to absorb moisture from the air during storage so prebaking is important before assembly otherwise FPC can easily delaminated or blistered under the high-temperature impact of reflow soldering.

B) Flex PCB SMT assembly

After you placed an order with us then we purchase components in advance according to your BOM list at the meantime we 100% inspect the incoming material when components arrived. And then SMT programming, laser stencils making, paste printing, SMT assembly, AOI inspection, reflow soldering and so on.

C) Through-hole PCB assembly

1) Manual and automated placement of components

2) Double wave flow solder

3) Trimming

4) Manual welding after wave soldering

5) Board cleaning

6) Quality check

D) Flex PCBA test

Such as ICT test, FCT test, aging test, fatigue analysis, harsh environments test.

E) Packing and random inspection

We realized random inspection is very important before packing and shipping and of course we also do it for sure. The package can be customized so make sure that you can receive the flexible PCBAs without any damage after long-distance transportation. Meanwhile, our production line can assemble finished product as well if you want.
